Seek. Treasure. Know. Live it out.

(Psalm 119:9-11) The Psalmist shares the movement of a life that loves God. Seeking God, treasuring His words, knowing Him through them, and then living them out are essential to our Christian life.

This week’s Scripture Sauce is sourced from Psalm 119, the longest chapter in the Bible.

You’ll find this sauce highly organized. In fact, Psalm 119 is a Hebrew acrostic poem, where each section starts with the next letter of the Hebrew alphabet, representing the completeness of the poem.

How can a young person stay on the path of purity?
By living according to your word.
I seek you with all my heart;
do not let me stray from your commands.
I have hidden your word in my heart
that I might not sin against you.

Psalm 119:9-11 (NIV)

I’m always struck by the psalmist’s honesty and genuine love for God. He’s like one of those devoted foodies who snags a picture of each meal, delighting in his culinary acts. But here, we have a person delighting in God’s words.

The writer gives us insight into living a life which is pleasing to God.

His main weapons?

  • Seeking God
  • Treasuring His word
  • Knowing it intimately
  • Then living it out.

This is my hope and prayer, that Scripture Sauce would help you on your journey in delighting in God more.
